Family birthday party

Yesterday at family night (which is a weekly event at our home) we celebrated Rick's 54th birthday. Cindi made him a "tool-time" cake. Now, she probably won't like that I blogged a picture of it because it wasn't as elaborate as she usually creates (oh my goodness, her decorating skills are AMAZING) but it was most appropriate, because......................
oh, what could it be..........
ANOTHER TOOL!!!! Rick DOES LOVE tools, and he is getting quite a collection. Happily, he has put them all to good use, and we have alot of evidence of his woodworking skill around our homes. Here's to my handsome, hardworking, handyman husband. Happy birthday. I love you. Posted by Picasa

Happy Birthday, Rick!

So, let's try this again. I'm trying to do a birthday blog for Rick, but half of what I blogged before Survivor (cause you KNOW I had to break for that) didn't show up. ps I'm a novice blogger Out to Mission Springs for some birthday dinner - yummy food, etc :)
Our blurry dinner companions (at least they're smiling) If you don't recognize them, meet my sis & bro/law Viv & Ron
Viv's "hot off the press" (literally) hair cut hubba hubba... you look MAHVELOUS. I love you!
Hey birthday boy, which one will it be? (beverage sampler) Posted by Picasa

More Pix

A random shot of our table (cause we were having problems with the camera) but a cool picture nevertheless PLEASE, no more pictures!!!!
Complimentary birthday cake, how nice!
Or not! This cake SHOULD come with a large beverage (read-DRY) Posted by Picasa

Wee Whalers

Sabrina & Olivia noticed a whale in the backyard today, and it had captured someone!
OH NO! It was Mommy!!! (she was very distraught, as you can see)
Sabrina was tentative, but Olivia got right in there and bit that whale on the snout. Nobody messes with HER mommy!
Finally, dinosaur Sabrina stomped in and finished the job...Mommy is free and uninjured. Whew! Posted by Picasa

This sunflower would not stop growing as you can see it is almost 10 feet tall
and whenever I go into the garden my two helpers are never far behind
This is the second year I have grown this interesting and edible plant anybody know what it is? Yes I know what it is.. just wondering if anybody else does. And yes I also know that our life needs more excitement when all I can blog about is garden stuff. Posted by Picasa
